    Valentine’s Day Treats – Puppy Chow {Monday Meals} - 2013-02-18 11:18:15-05

On Valentine’s morning I made a one of our new valentine’s day treats . . . it’s addictive. I had to wrap it up quickly or I’d eat it all.  I’m not kidding.

Valentine's Day Treats - Puppy Chow from HowToHomeschoolMyChild.comThis is another EASY treat to share with those you love.

Valentine's Day Treats - Puppy Chow from HowToHomeschoolMyChild.comIn a large bowl, mix together Chex cereal and M&M’s.  Melt white chocolate chips and pour over the mixture.

Valentine's Day Treats - Puppy Chow from HowToHomeschoolMyChild.comTo make white puppy chow, pour powder sugar on top of the mixture. Gently stir together & be careful not to break the cereal. Set aside

Valentine's Day Treats - Puppy Chow from HowToHomeschoolMyChild.comRepeat melting white chocolate and stirring with cereal-candy mixture. This time pour red cake mix to make pink puppy chow.  If you want a darker pink, use red candy melts instead of white chocolate.

I looked for a red velvet cake mix, but couldn’t find it.  The strawberry cake mix gave a nice flavor to the puppy chow.

Valentine's Day Treats - Puppy Chow from HowToHomeschoolMyChild.comMix together and you’ll have pink puppy chow.  If you taste this, you might not stop eating it :-)

Valentine's Day Treats - Puppy Chow from HowToHomeschoolMyChild.comCombine white & pink puppy chow. Add some more M&M’s.  Now, you’re ready to wrap it up.

Valentine's Day Treats - Puppy Chow from HowToHomeschoolMyChild.comI had a little bit of red plastic wrap, so I started with red plastic wrap. Next, I criss-crossed with clear plastic wrap. (You can use all red if you like). Pour a generous scoop or two in the middle.  Pull up the corners to bundle it.

Valentine's Day Treats - Puppy Chow from HowToHomeschoolMyChild.comUse red curling ribbon to tie a nice bow. Use your scissors to curl the ribbon. Add as many curling strands as you like.

I’m sure you could package this in cuter ways, but I wanted to use what I had on hand.  If you have small bags or boxes, feel free to use those.

As soon as I was finished wrapping our valentine’s day treats I headed to Hunter’s house to deliver them.

Valentine's Day Treats - Puppy Chow from HowToHomeschoolMyChild.comIf you’re having a party, pour single servings into small bowls.  That’s what I did for Steve & me after our Valentine’s dinner.
