Easter Traditions: Resurrection Eggs - 2013-03-15 04:26:32-04
I’m jumping on the Blissdom Bunny Trail and sharing some Easter traditions…More about Hersheys & our Easter traditional recipes in a future post.
When my kids turned 5, they each made their own set of Resurrection Eggs. That was over 15 years ago and we still have all 3 sets of Resurrection Eggs to tell the Easter story.
They all loved listening to the Easter story as we opened each egg. As they grew up, they could use the eggs to tell the Easter story.
Each child decorated their egg carton on their own. . . paint, glitter, wallpaper. . . whatever they wanted to use.
I used a Sharpie to number the eggs. Let your child place them in number order for a little reinforcement of their numbers. Fill each egg with appropriate objects to tell Easter story. For example, a cotton ball symbolizes cloud, nail reminds us of Jesus nailed to the cross, and an empty egg means the tomb is empty on Sunday morning.
If you want my list of objects and a Easter Bible verse for each egg, leave your email below.

Fifteen to twenty years later, we still have our Resurrection Eggs. The egg cartons are waiting or grandkids to visit….someday!
