Pumpkin Activities for Kids with 7 Pumpkin Books - 2013-10-25 04:00:00-04
As I look over these pumpkin books, I realize that some of my favorite authors are included. When my kids were young, we loved books by Tasha Tudor, Tommie dePaola, Gail Gibbons & Steven Kroll. I hope your family enjoys them, too.
Be sure to try some of the pumpkin activities for kids that are listed under each of the books.

Language Arts Activities
At the end of the story, talk about what pumpkin moonshine is.
Art Activity:
Discuss how the illustrations were created. Let your kids do a pen & ink illustration or a watercolor illustration of a holiday. Or, you can combine these media into one illustration.

Math Activity:
After reading, ask your child to draw a circle, square, triangle, rectangle and ½ circle. Discuss the differences & similarities.
Cut out shapes of orange & yellow. Let your child use the orange shapes to create a pumpkin and the yellow shapes to make a face.
