Learning in Spite of Labels {HSHW Giveaway} - 2014-08-19 19:16:08-04
We just got back from a weekend at the Guadalupe River. Since Ashley, Jesse & Gentry live in other cities, we try to get together every summer before school starts. In the past, we’ve rented a home on the river or lake. It’s always a fun time together.
This year we visited Natural Bridge Caverns and floated in the Guadalupe River. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
Today, Joyce Herzog (one of our Homeschool Super Heroes Week) is giving away a copy of her excellent book, Learning in Spite of Labels.
All children can learn. It’s time to stop teaching subjects and start teaching children!
Learning in Spite of Labels helps you teach your child so they can learn. We are all “labeled” in some area. Some of us can’t sing, some aren’t athletic, some can’t express themselves well, some struggle with directions, and on and on!
Realizing that we’re all “labeled” helps us to work with those that have difficulties in areas we don’t. Joyce’s desire is to help you be the best parent/teacher you can be!
